A husband has revealed how his wife was left fuming after he decided to ditch her 30th birthday party so he could go to his best friend’s wedding.
There is no doubt that he wanted to be with his wife to celebrate her special day but he also didn’t want to miss his best friend’s wedding celebrations.
He ultimately chose to be with his pal for his big day but his wife was not happy with his decision.
“My wife is turning 30 and has planned a big birthday party with her friends and family,” the man wrote on Reddit.
“Unfortunately, my best friend has also got his wedding on the same evening. He is my best friend and we are very close and I do not get along with my wife’s family.”
His wife got mad and told him not to go to the wedding but he explained that he couldn’t go back on the commitment he already made.
The man also said that his wife’s big party had been planned for a few months, the venue booked, and invites had been sent out.
The wedding invitation from his best friend arrived only days before the date but he still decided to go to the wedding even though he knew how his wife would react.
“So am I the a****** for going to the wedding?”
People on Reddit were quick to slam the husband, with one person writing: “Honestly she’s turning 30 and has been planning for months. OP [original poster] only just got the RSVP, I would go with the wife and send friend a good gift.”
Another wrote: “I guess if you want to be divorced, it’s fine to go to the wedding.”
