‘I Uninvited My Mom And Dad From My Wedding Because They Are ‘Not Good Enough’ To Attend And Might Embarrass Us During Our Big Day’

Most couples celebrate their wedding with their family and close friends but one son has decided to exclude his parents because his future in-laws said that they are ‘not good enough’.

Taking to Reddit, the furious father said he planned to sell the house where his son lives because “he doesn’t want us in his new life, so he has to get out.”

Asking for advice, the dad further explained that he and his wife bought a second home for their son and even detailed how they have financially supported him.

But while both families were enjoying a BBQ party, his wife and daughter were ushered inside, along with his son, his fiancé, as well as her family.

Only minutes later, his wife and daughter were left upset. When they returned home, he was told that “our son and his fiancé along with her family don’t want us at the wedding.”

“According to what I was told ‘We’re not their kind of people’. I was livid, I called my son and asked him WTH this was about. He tells me that her family feel that we are not good enough and will embarrass them at a family wedding and that we are all uninvited from the wedding,” the father wrote.

The father said he let a week pass by before going back to the house where his son lives rent-free. But the fiancé and her family were there and “it appears that they all moved into the house.”

“They ask me why I’m there, I tell them that since we aren’t invited to the wedding, I was coming over to talk to my son,” he explained.

“They tell me to leave their house. I lost it, and told them that they had 30 days to get out. Tell my son I’m selling the house and he could find somewhere else to live with all of you. I go to a realtor in town and list the house for sale,” he added.

The frustrated father then took to Reddit and asked people if he was in the wrong for listing the house for sale.

One Reddit user wrote: “With your son I suggest you guys have a conversation see why is willing to cut you out for a new family. I mean it seems like you guys were happy until this relationship started. Don’t destroy your family to one up another.”

Another said: “NTA- Rock on man. He was wrong and there is no amount of excuses or words to convince otherwise. It overall seems toxic and there is no reason why he should allow anyone to exclude his family.”
