‘Am I In The Wrong For Trying To Change My Son’s Birth Certificate Because I Think One Hour Won’t Really Make A Difference?’

A father has been slammed online after he tried to change his son’s birth certificate just because he thinks that he has ‘authority over space and time’.

The unnamed dad took to Reddit and explained that he and his wife welcomed their first born at 11:05 pm on New Year’s Eve.

When a nurse gave him a form to fill out the details of their child’s birth, he decided to put 12:05 am on January 1, 2021, because ‘one hour difference was not really a problem.’

But the nurse immediately stopped him immediately and said that the form must contain the exact time and date.

“I argued with her about it and told her that she was making a huge deal out of it,” the dad wrote. “And that this was unfair to my son because he only lived in 2020 for just one hour.”

The father also said that 2020 was a bad year and he didn’t want his son to be associated with it.

“Adding 2021 would make more sense,” he went on.

The furious nurse told him that what he was doing was forgery and would result in a big problem.

“I told her that I’m his dad so I get a say and take full responsibility for anything that happens later. She lashed out at me and told me that ‘this is not how it works’ and that this form will not be accepted because it contained false information,” he continued.

People on Reddit were baffled the dad’s way of thinking, with one person writing: “A bunch of terrible things happened to you in 2020, but one good thing also happened. Your son was conceived and born in 2020.”

Another said: “As a parent you don’t have authority over space and time. His date and time of birth is a fact, not an opinion.”
