“I think regular toilet paper is gross – it gets crumbly and stuck, I’d rather have water and cloth,” she said. “I just feel like it cleans me way better.

“Some people might think it’s gross, we have a bidet so it cleans us and we use reusable toilet paper to wipe dry.

One person commented: “Reusable pads for the win! It most definitely makes cramps less intense!”

Another wrote: “We’ve been doing that for years. We each have a different coloured cloth hung next to the kazi. Problem is, by day 6 all the cloths look the same mud like colour. After 2 weeks we give them a quick 30 degree eco wash and start again.”

A third said: “I kinda want to do this.”

But others think that her technique is gross, with one person writing: “She thinks toilet paper is disgusting & uses homemade cloths that get cleaned regularly. How often is regularly. The smell alone from the cloths waiting to be washed I would have thought was pretty disgusting. No, give me toilet paper any day of the week.”

Another said: “She uses the cloths then puts them in with her regular laundry …gross!. And how much detergent and (hopefully ) very hot water does she use to sanitise them !!”
