An upset expectant mom has spoken out and sought advice after her sister banned all children from her wedding.

As the 25-year-old mother in question revealed in her Reddit post, she was looking forward to going to her sister’s wedding until the latter came up with the rule that no children would be allowed on her special day.

While child-free weddings and others events are nothing new, the poster explained that she now refuses to go to the wedding because she doesn’t want to leave her future baby alone all day.

“I’m currently pregnant and at the time of the wedding will have a five-month baby. I asked her if she could come as well, but she said no. I accepted that and told her I won’t be able to attend. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my young kid with a sitter and my family would be at the wedding,” the woman wrote.

After telling her sister that she wouldn’t be attending the wedding, the bride-to-be allegedly got “pretty pi**ed off” and accused the expectant mom of punishing her.

“She said she wants me to be there and give a speech as the sister of the bride, but I told her I can’t attend if I can’t bring my baby,” the poster continued.

“She replied some of her friends have kids and they know a lot of trusted sitters, and she’ll give me the numbers, but I’ve refused.

“Mum said she could stay home with the baby while I attend a part of the ceremony, and then she’ll come (and I’ll go home) but [my sister] wants our parents to be there the whole time.”

After the matter went viral on Reddit, viewers were quick to side with the mother-to-be.

While most agreed that it was completely acceptable for people to want to have child-free weddings, they also suggested that in this case, the sister should gracefully accept the mom’s decision not to go to the event because she wants to stay with her baby.

“If you want a childless wedding that’s completely fine but don’t blame parents for refusing to attend without their kids,” someone wrote.

“People are allowed to have child free weddings, they are not allowed to be offended when people don’t come. Honest, I would always have chosen my kids,” another said.
