The never-ending inflation is forcing so many households to make the toughest decisions and this next heartbreaking story about a single mother’s daily struggles is no exception.
Jacqueline McMillan who hails from Glasgow is turning plenty of heads after she put up her real-life struggles in front of the world by revealing how she is forced to feed her daughter over herself.
The single mother says she’s forced to pay a huge chunk of her monthly income on necessities like fuel and at the same time, she is also forced to live in a cold flat too.
“I am forced to wear jumpers and dressing gowns to help myself warm, it’s a daily struggle”- the mother went on to add.
To make ends meet, the mom says she’s been stripped of every ounce of her pride due to the rising costs due to inflation and now it’s taking a toll on her health and wellbeing too.
But the mother’s crippling pain doesn’t end there as she fears for the worst when the costs of energy are expected to rise further in April.
“It is just so awful. There is so little money that’s leftover at the end of every month to purchase basic necessities for things like food” she says.
The mother continues to ask the government and higher officials how they expect people like her to cope.
At 42 years old, she is under great pressure to get enough money that would assist in feeding her as now she’s forced to give her food to her daughter to ensure she doesn’t suffer.
In the same way, the mother revealed how she has also been forced to borrow from several of her friends and loved ones because there’s no way out.
