One pregnant woman has recently been slammed by her own loved ones and friends for asking her husband to choose her over the baby, in case any complication arises.
The new mother shed light on how much negativity and criticism she had to deal with and how much she is continuing to face on a routine basis, even after the baby’s arrival.
Posting her real-life dilemma on Reddit recently, the woman says that these decisions are very difficult to make but she felt the need to tell her partner about how she felt. After all, he was her husband.
Adding how there’s no easy way out when it comes to childbirth complications, the mother says that her baby arrived in this world two years ago. And that’s when she found out about how she had developed gestational diabetes at just 32 weeks.
While she didn’t have any complications as such, praying for a healthy baby was always on her mind.
Soon, it was revealed how the mother would be having a c-section. And this was not something that she was prepared for. Therefore, all sorts of thoughts ran through her head, including complications that could potentially arise.
On that note, the scared mother told her husband that if he was left with the devastating decision to choose one person, he should without thinking, choose her.
But that news didn’t go down too well with her friends and loved ones who felt she behaved in an awfully self-fish manner. Moreover, she’s still haunted by people’s words regarding the matter.
Thankfully, most people on Reddit took this mother’s side. They felt that those that bashed her had no right of doing so and were in no place of doing so. Most of the comments revolved around ‘your body, your right, and your choice.’ Another added how anyone that felt the mom’s life was secondary was a misogynist.
