Parents SLAMMED For ‘Entitled’ Behavior After They Stepped Over The Barrier Of A Dangerous Animal Enclosure In A Zoo

A couple were slammed for their ‘entitled’ behavior after they were spotted climbing over the fence of an animal enclosure so their kids could ‘grab and touch’ a tortoise at the Perth Zoo.

The parents were seen lifting their kids over the barrier, holding them only a few inches away from the giant tortoise.

One of the horrified visitors even took to social media and called out the ‘entitled’ parents.

Yahoo News Australia

Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, the woman said: “The family climbed over the fence and log barricade twice so each of their kids could get a turn grabbing and touching the tortoise.

“They were clearly English speakers with Australian accents who understood us and the signs.”

The mother in the viral photos can be seen carrying her kid near the tortoise in front of the signage, ropes, and wooden barriers.

A witness said her group as well as others complained to the parents about their actions but the mom completely ignored all of them.

The dad who was seen filming their kids’ interaction with the tortoise reportedly told horrified visitors to ‘let the kids f****** experience it.’

A shocked visitor also claimed the animal ‘suffered’ over the intrusion as the mother ‘forced’ her kid to touch it even though the tot was already in tears.

A spokesperson for Perth Zoo told Yahoo News Australia: “Our animal exhibits and viewing areas are designed to ensure the safety of both our animals and visitors.

“We ask that visitors to the Zoo respect all signage and fencing when admiring our animals to ensure they can feel safe and happy in their own homes.”
