A Wisconsin family has received a positive response after building a mini outdoor pantry for locals to share goods they don’t need and/or take the necessities they crave.
As Terry Uribe Gall explained in her Facebook post, she and her family came up with the idea to set up a pantry to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic and associated lockdown.
“Inspired by positivity, my family & I would like to help out as much as we can during these trying times. We made a mini pantry on our front lawn located on 78th n Beloit, across the street from McCarty Park. Please stop by & donate if you can or if you’re in need!” she wrote in her Facebook post.
As the woman said, the interest in their pantry has been growing steadily whereas more and more people have decided not only to benefit from it but also to donate so that those in need would be well provided for.
Following growth in donations, the family has expanded the array of items they offered and upgraded the size of their open-space pantry.
While most people appear to love the family’s idea, Terry insisted someone reported them to the Department of Health in one of her following posts.
As she said, however, the pantry will remain open whereas they will no longer accept and provide fresh produce, meat, milk, baked goods, and similar products that could present a health hazard.
“So we will remain open 24/7 until told otherwise. Please come out if you need the supplies. God Bless you all and be safe,” she wrote.
Soon after the successful kick-off of the pantry, the family has once again upgraded, this time to a tent with the American flag proudly waving on top of it.
“Since our pantry is constantly growing we upgraded to a tent. All the items are still free to all who needs them. Thank you to everyone who has donated items & cash! Without you this would not be possible,” Terry wrote in an update.
“The Gall Pantry is located on 78th n Roth of Beloit across the street from McCarty Park. It is open 24/7 rain or shine PLEASE stop by if you’re in need or if you’re able to donate!”
