‘I Named My Baby After An INFECTION Because I Don’t See Any Problem With It But My Friends Told Me Not To Risk It’

Picking a name for your little bundle of joy can be exciting and daunting at the same time as your child will use it for the rest of his or her life.

But one mother was left questioning the name she picked after her friends told her that there are other great names out there and she shouldn’t settle with ‘unique’ name she really liked.

A friend of the expectant mother shared their message convo online which revealed that the mom-to-be wanted to name her baby Candida.

“What about Candida?” the mom-to-be said.

But the friend who shared conversation online replied: “I could be wrong but I think that’s the medical term for a yeast infection.”

However, the pregnant mom really liked the name Candida and claimed: “No one’s going to know that.”

The friend then said “I wouldn’t risk it” before adding that there are many other great names that she could choose from.

“I doubt that would have been an issue but ok,” the pregnant mom said.

Many people on Reddit explained that Candida is actually a valid name for baby but others said that they would still not use it as it is also the name of the common bodily fungus.

“I had a coworker whose legal name was Candida. I knew what it was immediately. She went by Candy. I can only imagine why,” one person commented.

“I know Candida is a legitimate name, but I can’t hear it without thinking of yeast infections,” another wrote.

“Every time I think a name is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard, another comes along to make me want to slap the s**t out of someone,” a third said.
