But one mother who was left questioning the name she picked for her son took to Reddit and asked for internet users’ opinions.

The woman explained that she had chosen the name Otis for her baby boy but she’s worried that it sounds like a dog’s name.

“What does the name Otis make you think of? Is it a dog/cat name to you?” she asked.

“What would you think if someone introduced you to their baby called Otis?

People were quick to share their thoughts about the name Otis, with many saying that it is lovely.

One assured the mother, writing: “UK nerd here. It’s a human name to me.”

Another said: “Both… it’s a human name that’s also good for dogs and cats. But my pet name tastes are various media characters and human names…I don’t really care for ‘pet’ names anyway.”
