A woman has shared how her in-laws were left furious after she told them to stay in a hotel when they complained about hearing ‘intimate’ bedroom noise.
Taking to Reddit, the wife explained that she and her husband would be happy to pay for a hotel room for the in-laws so they wouldn’t have to hear noises at night but they were not impressed by the idea.
The unnamed woman said that after buying a home, her in-laws kept on visiting them that she could barely have enough time alone with her husband.
“They said it’s the perfect excuse to take a vacation and to put in some extra quality time with us. The thought of hosting them for a week is not my idea of a good time,” she wrote.
When her in-laws paid another visit, they overheard some intimate sounds between the couple.
“He (her husband) ran out to get us all breakfast and my mother-in-law pulled me aside and let me know she could hear mine and my husband’s ‘intimate moments’ the night before and requested we keep it down.
“I told her that if she would like, there’s a lovely hotel just 15 minutes away that my husband and I would be more than happy to pay for.”
But the mother-in-law got angry and told the husband that she should apologize.
Reddit users were quick to support the woman, with one person commenting: “You offered to pay for their hotel as a compromise solution. They wanted obedience instead, and that’s ridiculous.”
Another said: “The polite thing to do would be for her to pretend she didn’t hear you and get some earplugs, but if she were polite she wouldn’t have invited herself to your home in the first place.”
