Four-year-old William Buckley adores eating non-edible items and his mother can’t seem to find a solution to his extremely weird condition.

32-year-old Mary from Hull says that her son enjoys eating things like diapers, furniture, paper, and books too. Moreover, the situation has taken a weird extreme and she claims to be super freaked out over the whole scenario.

This is why she plans on raising awareness over his issues so that others who may appear to be in the same boat can get some help or perhaps give her some guidance on what to do next.

“It’s a strange eating disorder and I’ve been dealing with it for a while now,” the worried mother explained.

Some refer to the condition as Pica where children adore eating things that aren’t supposed to be edible. Usually, objects like fluff, books, and toys are most appealing to children and that’s why they tend to attack those the most.

“William has been at it since he was two. I’ have tried to get rid of books and soft toys from his room so that I can distract him away from these items during the day. It’s the only thing I can do to stop him from ingesting all of these damaging materials,” Mary went on to state.

Mary also shared how she is beyond appalled about the lack of awareness over such a disorder called Pica where children eat things with zero nutritional value.

“It is just so difficult to diagnose this in children since so many professionals simply assume or expect a child to just grow out of it,” she adds.
