A mother has been criticized online for having a baby at the age of 51.
Kayla Caldwell has been sharing her mother’s pregnancy journey on TikTok after she fell pregnant via IVF.
However, her videos received negative remarks about her mother’s decision to have a baby at her age.
“You will probably be caring for your sibling one day,” one person wrote.
“This is so irresponsible for literally everyone involved,” another commented.
“That’s so risky! How’s she gonna have energy to play with children even?” a third said.
“Love that doctors are willing to let THIS happen but not let me get my tubes tied,” someone else added.
But Kayla was quick to hit out at haters, saying that she has never seen her mother so happy.
“To all the haters of my mom having a baby at 51… She is so happy!” she said.
In another TikTok video, Kayla shared some of the supportive messages they received when she announced that her mother successfully fell pregnant.
One person wrote: “My friend was told she could never have a baby.. she had a healthy boy at the age of 50. Congratulations momma.”
Another said: “I am 45 trying to have another baby. This gives me hope.”
Kayla’s mother is not the only mom who has been subjected to criticism for having a baby over the age of 40.
Another woman, 49-year-old Kris, shared how cruel trolls accused her of being ‘selfish’ for adopting a child.
“That poor child who will sadly have a geriatric parent before she graduates school,” one said.
But Kris doesn’t let the negative remarks get to her as she continues to heartwarming videos of her 2-year-old.
