A mother has shared her heartbreak after she caught her husband cheating and how she felt sick to her stomach after hearing his conversation with the mistress.
The 50-year-old wife took to Mumsnet and explained that she has been with her husband since she was 17.
“I found out three years ago that my husband was having an affair, he was with this mistress for four years at that stage and I stupidly thought I could change him and that he would be forever grateful to me for giving him a chance,” she wrote.
She said that her husband saw her broke down and couldn’t function properly but she managed to pull herself together as she believed that he would change.
Everything was going well until she discovered her husband’s second phone where she found flirtatious text messages between her husband and another woman.
“I confronted him but, of course, he said they were only fooling and that he never went to her house so with Christmas coming I just tried to forget about it and concentrate on having a happy house for the children,” she went on.
When she asked her husband if he was still talking to the woman, he suddenly got defensive.
“I knew he would never be honest so I put a voice recorder under the seat of his car and low and behold there I heard the whole S*X session (this was with the most recent woman). I listened to it all and it’s like a switch has gone off in my head and suddenly I don’t want him anymore,” she wrote.
“He was meeting up with her while I was at night work and met her three times in one week. He doesn’t know that I know about this yet as I’m not sure how to confront him. I want him to leave the house as I’m never ever taking him back.”
Her post has gained hundreds of comments, with one person writing: “This is awful OP. I am so sorry you’ve had this shock and hope you get lots of support here, it must be so hard. What a level of betrayal.”
Another commented: “Get rid of him, why waste more of your life on this a******? It’s hard to leave, but not as hard as living like you are.”
