All babies are termed to be the biggest blessings in the world but for one family, that just wasn’t the case.
Here is a heartbreaking story of a wife who broke down emotionally because she feels she couldn’t fulfill her husband and his family’s expectations of a baby boy.
“For me, all babies were precious but for them, only those that fulfilled a particular requirement were good enough”- the mom to be explained.
The wife revealed how she was expecting her first child with her husband. And since it was also her husband’s family’s first grandchild, they had their eyes set on a boy.
Before the gender reveal, there was enough talk about how they would name him after the child’s grandad. But this whole time, the mother-to-be was in fear of not fulfilling their expectations in terms of the baby’s gender.
“I was told to attend prayers and take part in special religious practices that would ensure the baby’s gender was a definite boy and although I was well against it, I quietly went along”- she revealed.
When the day of the doctor’s appointment arrived, the wife and her husband were anxious as ever as there was a lot riding on this decision. But to her husband’s dismay, the ultrasound reports showed a baby girl.
The news put her husband’s mood off and he began to cry in the car. He didn’t want to face the family but he had to reveal the results to them. And as you can probably expect, they were not happy.
They even went as far as mentioning how the results are false and how she should get the test done again. But enough was enough for the mother to be who felt she was undergoing torture.
“My daughter should be celebrated just as much as a son would have been”- she cried. And when a few weeks passed and things settled down, the family kept her a baby shower. However, she did not attend it and quietly walked out.
The mom to be said that the party was more for an imaginary grandson than anyone else. She just couldn’t handle it anymore and felt walking away and having her own peace of mind was the best decision she could make for herself.
