Sleeping disorders are real but even if you don’t have one, it can be hard to fall asleep at times and it is frustrating.
People try tricks like taking a bath with warm water before going to bed or having a glass of milk before going to bed. Counting sheep can be a great method too but they are all just myths. They might work at times but they don’t always do.
They leave you lying in your bed with a mind willing to sleep badly and a body that is just not able to get to sleep.
The more active your mind stays the higher the chances are that you don’t fall asleep. This gets frustrating for sure and will keep you awake for even longer.
For the same problem, Dr. Andrew Weil from Harvard has suggested a breathing technique that can make fall you asleep in just a minute’s time.
The technique gained popularity and is known as 4-7 technique now. This is a simple technique and all you have to do is follow these steps.
- Start inhaling and continue for 4 seconds.
- Now, hold your breath and keep holding until you count till 7.
- Now start exhaling and continue for 8 seconds.
Now you see, the steps use 4seconds, then 7 seconds, then 8 seconds.
Repeat the same for 3 times in a row and you will fall asleep.
Do the math and you will find a sum of 57 seconds in total.
Breathing techniques have always been used as a way to fall asleep and here we have a new technique that helps in falling asleep in less than a minute.
So rather than getting sunk into insomnia, use this simple technique and fall asleep peacefully.
