Factory Workers Who Were Making Protective Equipment are Finally Home After 4 Weeks


Working tirelessly for around a month to help in the manufacturing of protective equipment for medical staff who are fighting coronavirus, the employees of a chemical company in Pennsylvania have finally gone back to their home for one week’s break.

More than 40 staff members at Braskem America located in Delaware County were living in the factory for the past 28 days. They used to take daily shifts of 12 hours alternativity to manufacture raw materials that are used in the creation of hospital gowns, N95 masks, and sanitary wipes.

The operational shift supervisor; Joe Boyce said that they are among the fortunate ones as for the past 28 days, they did not have to follow any rules. They did not have to stand at a distance of six feet from anyone or wear a mask.

The only glimpse they had of the outside world was when they saw the families of workers driving by or when they watched TV while on the break time.

Boyce said that thinking that their work made a difference in this challenging time, makes their efforts worthwhile. He said that the team is truly honored to support the people and give back to the community.

Workers were in the factory working non-stop for the last 28 days, and reportedly they have been given a week off to take rest at their homes. And, Braskem America is also planning to increase the wages of these workers who have been working round the clock.

Boyce also thanked the workers who are on the frontline and keeping the US safe. He said that his team thank all the people who are combating the virus at the front line and trying to keep everyone safe

As per the reports on Tuesday, the United States of America has 780,536 cases along with 37,818 death due to coronavirus.

Despite the rising number, people in many parts of the country are seen breaking the lockdown measures, and the authorities are having a challenging time managing them.
