It’s that time of the year—prom season.
High schoolers everywhere are nervously preparing for the biggest dance of their teenage years. They’re saving money for their dresses, suits, makeup, hair, flowers, limos, and more. They’re scoping out the most beautiful spots for the best pictures.
And they’re trying to think of the coolest and most memorable ways to ask their crushes and friends to the big dance.
Unfortunately for teens this day and age, one young man has got them beat.
Shaedon Wedel asked Carlie Whittman to go to prom with him using her favorite snack, Doritos. Little did Shaedon know that his unique proposal would completely change his experience of prom…

Carlie is Shaedon’s best friend’s little sister. She has down syndrome, which sets her apart from some of the other kids her age. Shaedon decided to ask her to prom, but he knew he had to do something extra special.
Shaedon asked her while wearing a shirt that read, “know I’m NACHO typical Dorito but…I’m going to be cheesy and ask: will you go to prom with me?”
Carlie said yes. Doritos are, after all, her favorite snack.
Shaedon and Carlie had no idea that the prom proposal would catch the attention of the massive chip company.

After news of Shaedon’s proposal started to go viral, the Dorito’s company heard the news. They decided to give them a prom they would never forget.
The chip corporation decided to fly Shaedon, Carlie, her brother and his date to the dance in style. They provided two helicopters, making sure they would have an entrance no one else would forget either.
The special treatment no doubt made them feel like royalty.
In an even more incredible stroke of luck, a family in Wisconsin decided to raise money for Carlie’s prom dress. She wore a sparkly blue dress, tiara, and carried a wand.

The four friends had a blast flying in style to their high school prom. Although Carlie is only 15, I can’t imagine she’ll ever go to a prom as magical as this one.
