Eric Trump claimed that ‘illegal immigration was not a problem anymore’ as his father, former President Donald Trump, managed to fix the border.
Speaking on Fox News, the 37-year-old said that his father regularly visited the border when he was still in office and claimed that the former president ‘had the issue fixed.’
“They’ll leave a 30-yard gap where people are pouring in. I mean, I just don’t understand it. My father had fixed this problem. Illegal immigration was not a problem anymore,” he said.
“That’s the most humane form of immigration where you don’t have people making this dangerous trek, and literally it shows you what bad policy can do to a country.”
Eric also said that the system was ‘fixed’ and ‘perfect’ before President Joe Biden took office.
On Saturday, Donald Trump said that he plans to check the border soon as officials there ‘asked me to go.’
He told Fox News: “A lot of people want me to, the Border Patrol and the people of ICE want me there and have asked me to go. I feel I sort of owe it to them.
“They are great people doing an incredible job. It’s impossible with what they have done to stay in Mexico should have been left. Now they stay in the United States, by the way, stay in and never leave.”
Trump added: “Thousands and thousands of people are coming up right now as we speak. And you will have millions of people pouring into our country. It will destroy our country. It’s a very, very dangerous situation.”
He also said that removing the Migrant Protection Protocol was “a very bad decision” as he slammed Biden for getting rid of “Remain in Mexico” policy.
“You’re going to have millions of people pouring into our country. It’s a very dangerous situation. I would love not to be involved. Someone else is supposed to be doing it,” Trump added.
