The grey wolf known to the officials by ‘wolf OR-54’ had arrived in California in 2018.

The poor girl was found dead in Shasta County.

The announcement of her death came just after 2 years of her arrival at Oregon to California.

She was brought in with the fate that she will be able to find a mate and help in repopulating the states with the species. But the same did not happen.

The wolf kept looking for a mate for as long as 2 years but could not find even one and this is absolutely tragic.

She was among a couple of dozen of wolf left in the state.

The expert says “when the wolf turns 1.5 or 2 years old, they leave out their group and go out to look for a mate.

This grey wolf did the same just like her father, the famous OR-7.”

“The only difference in the case of her father and her is that after her father was brought to California and he was able to find a mate and turned great for the population but OR-54 couldn’t.”

She was found dead but this is yet to be known how she died.

The wildlife officers are working on to find out if she died due to natural causes or she was killed by a poacher.

Weiss said “we hope she died because of natural causes because this is not looking great.

If it was poachers work then the rest of the animals in the region are not safe either.”

The tragic news came out and this marks a possible end of the species.
