Employee Mocked Female Customer For Buying At Their Place Every Day

An upset woman has spoken out and claimed she was mocked by Greggs’ staff because she had been buying food from their company on a daily basis.

Instead of being thanked and praised for being a loyal customer, 21-year-old Kathy Readon was shocked when a Greggs employee of the Alton, Hampshire, branch told her “you’re in here every day, you’re going to get sick of this eventually.”

As the young woman admitted, she didn’t see anything funny about the supposed joke, especially because the guy allegedly didn’t stop reprimanding her.

“Literally all that happened was I went in – I am a regular there, I work down the road and have been doing so for a year. I’m very anxious, I don’t really talk to people. But I went in, I ordered what I normally order and I think he was trying to be banterous with me but it did not come off that way,” Kathy said in an interview.

“He essentially just made fun of me for ordering pizza and it kind of felt like he was making fun of unhealthy habits. It came across like he was picking on me. There were other people in the store and he kept saying that I was in there every single day.”

She added: “During the interaction I also told him he was making me feel very anxious and he ignored it. He carried on speaking to me in the same manner, saying the same things.

In her Facebook post, Kathy exposed the name of the employee responsible for her anxiety attack and said she probably won’t be able to go back to Greggs because of the incident.

After her story went viral, Kathy received a formal apology from Greggs and was given an $8 voucher. However, not everyone was on her side.

The 21-year-old removed her Facebook post after plenty of people on Facebook accused her of overreacting and being a snowflake. Some have also said that the man was probably just trying to flirt with her.
