One of the most anticipated news that any newly-married couple and the rest of their extended family can receive is the onset of pregnancy. Such news is definitely worthy of excitement and celebration and with good reason. After all, a new life is going to be added to the family.
For the prospective mom and dad, it serves as one form of validation for their marriage and a chance to take on the added responsibility of guiding someone with the same values that their own parents had when they were growing up. Prospective uncles and aunts will surely be excited at how they can tease or play with their upcoming nephew or niece. And for the grandparents, it’s a chance for them to spoil their grandkid and hold a child again.
The way these pregnancies are announced can be as varied as the number of people of the planet.point 184 | Some may go the elaborate route of calling the family to a dinner at a restaurant, coat and tie and all, for a mystery announcement and do the big reveal at the end of the meal, complete with audio-visuals and all the frills.point 367 |
Then there are those who go the other route and just casually say, “I’m pregnant” over snacks.point 96 | And then there are those who like to tease a little bit of mystery without going overboard on the set up before springing the surprise.point 207 | 1
Whatever way is chosen, what is clear is the absolute joy that the rest of the family feels upon hearing the good news. And that’s exactly what happened in the video below although the prospective grandma just couldn’t hold back her emotions on hearing the news.
The clip starts with the daughter huddled with her mom and dad by the kitchen counter when suddenly, the mom exclaims, “You’re pregnant?!” At the daughter’s affirmative nod, the mother can’t help herself and keeps repeating, “Oh my God! Oh my God!” as she circles the kitchen.
It got to the point that she is so overcome that she breaks down in tears and even goes on all fours on the floor as her joyful emotions just overwhelm her. Both the dad and the daughter are smiling and laughingly tell the mom to get up.
It’s not clear if the family had been waiting for some time or if the daughter had been having difficulty getting pregnant. But the fact that she’s finally carrying a bun in the oven is clearly a big deal as the reaction of the mom shows.
