Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is being praised for offering more than 1,000 ventilators to a hospital in California in order to facilitate better treatment of patients suffering from coronavirus.
The billionaire entrepreneur also provided 50,000 face masks to the Seattle home of a University of Washington. The healthcare workers here were constantly struggling with the lack of protective gear to treat the patients safely.
After frequently underestimating the severity of this virus, Musk claimed that he would provide ventilators to curb its shortage across the United States of America.
He also tweeted that he might be using his Tesla factor to manufacture ventilators in order to cater to the increasingly rising demands of it in the hospitals.
Post the gesture by Musk, Ford came forward and said it is also working on providing ventilators to the hospitals that will be ready to deliver by early June.
Ford is working in association with GE Healthcare in order to help medical institutes get the necessary equipment to treat the patients amidst this breakout. Dr Kristina Adams received 50,000 masks from Elon Musk and Tesla.
Gavin Newsom, California Governor announced the delivery of the ventilators in LA while he was conducting a Press Conference and called Elon Musk’s gesture as a heroic effort.
He said that he revealed a couple of days back that Musk may donate 1,000 ventilators to the hospital that have been delivered this week.
They were delivered in Log Angeles and the Musk is working with the hospital to get them working in real-time. And what he did was truly a heroic act. Elon Musk in a tweet revealed that he purchased the ventilators from China and appreciated his team for getting the products here so quickly.
