Ellen DeGeneres has come out by stating her stance on the race issue as she has been urged by CNN’s Don Lemon to state her allegiances clearly.
The talk show host and entertainer has posted a video on her social media account on Monday filmed in her home. She was seen to be emotional and very upset, claiming that she couldn’t find her words. Don Lemon, an anchor, have previously urged celebrities who had been less vocal to state clearly to come out of their shells: the list comprises of. Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Jane Fonda, Drake, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
DeGeneres took to her video saying: ‘So, I have been posting my thoughts and my stance, on this, but I haven’t spoken directly because I don’t know what to say.’
‘I am so sad, and I am so angry, and, I know I’m not going to say the right thing, and I know that there are gonna be a lot of people who are gonna be, in disagreement with what I say.point 265 |
But, I have a platform and I have a voice, and I have always stood for equality, I have always wanted to be a voice for people who felt like they didn’t have a voice.point 138 | Because I know what that feels like, and maybe you don’t agree with how it’s coming out, but you have to understand it, and then we can heal it,’ she added, while taking a number of pauses.point 309 | 1
