An elderly man surprised his wife of 67 years on their wedding anniversary amid coronavirus lockdown.
Bob Shellard and his wife Nancy have been married for 67 years and have never been apart on their anniversary.
However, after Nancy’s care home in Vernon, Connecticut went into lockdown amid coronavirus fears, Bob couldn’t visit his wife.
On their wedding anniversary, Bob stood outside her care home window with a sign and balloons to wish his wife of 67 years a ‘Happy Anniversary’.
He held the sign that read: “I’ve loved you 67 years and still do. Happy Anniversary.”
TheHill.com shared a video that shows Nancy waving down at Bob and blowing kisses.
When Bob was asked about being separated from his wife on their wedding anniversary, he said: “It makes me feel bad because I want her down with me and I know she can’t be.”
“I wouldn’t want anybody else. I don’t think she could put up with anybody else besides me.”
Another heartwarming picture was shared by a woman after witnessing a special moment between a father and his son.
Sandy Hamilton, from Minnesota USA, who works at the aged-care facility that has been put in coronavirus lockdown, shared a heartwarming picture of a man chatting to his elderly father through a care home window amid coronavirus lockdown.
The picture shows an elderly resident at the facility talking to his son, who never fails to visit his father, through the care home window.
The father and son can be seen talking on the phone while the father is sitting inside the facility and the son is sitting outside.
Sandy captured the heartwarming moment and shared the picture online with the caption: “My assisted living is on lockdown, so he comes every day to see his dad and they talk through the phone – sweetest thing ever”.
Internet users praised the son for visiting his father every single day and branded the picture ‘sweet’.
