Two Elderly Men Sneaked Out Of Care Home To Attend The World’s Biggest Heavy-Metal Festival


Police came across two elderly men around 3 am in the crowd at the Wacken Open Air music festival in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The pensioners didn’t want to leave the party, hence, leaving the cops no choice but to escort their taxi by a police car till they reach their care home.

Apparently, the two elderly men flew their care home to attend the popular music festival in Wacken. The care home staff was alarmed by the absence of their two most elderly members. They immediately alerted the police.

A police officer said that the two old boys were confused and lethargic and the care home immediately organized a return transport upon being picked up by the cops.

Wacken Open Air music festival is a big thing for the people of Germany and tourists and music lovers from all across the globe comes to experience the four-day bonanza.

As per the reports, around 75000 people attended the music festival this year. First held in 1990 as a small event with a mere six local German bands and around 800 visitors, the Wacken Open Air music festival became an overnight hit.

It is at present, considered as the biggest heavy metal festival in the world that is held at the beginning of August every year and lasts four days.

The non-optional basic ticket price of €220 includes all four days along with camping for a week. This year’s music festival witnessed over 170 bands playing on eight stages.
