The British Special Boat Service patrol team went to help a family in Afghanistan after their vehicle was blown up by a bomb.

The brave troops didn’t abandon the family after seeing a young girl was badly hurt and an adult had been killed, according to the Daily Star.

While treating the girl, the patrol came under attack from at least 100 ISIS jihadis. They were forced to go to an abandoned compound and fight the extremists for six long hours.

A source said: “The one chance the SBS guys had was to last until nightfall and then they would have the advantage because of their night-vision equipment.”

When it became dark, the troops tricked the enemies into thinking they were in a different position. The team then fled to safety along with the girl who managed to make a full recovery.

The Brit troops had been on a joint patrol in eastern Afghanistan when the ambush occurred. It is not clear when the horrifying rescue took place.

For 13 years, the United Kingdom was involved in the conflict in Afghanistan against the fighters from Al-Qaeda and Taliban.

In 2014, the UK withdrew most of its combat troops from the country but many have been sent back over the past year after US President Trump and Nato asked allies for soldiers to fight terror threat.

One internet user commented: “Well done lads, sounds like you had a blast. Have to keep those jihadis from making an attack from the rear as it’s their favourite position.”

Another said: “Special men and well done for the rescue of the little girl.”

A third wrote: “Just shows how good our armed forces are, dread to think what Corbyn would do if he ever gets the chance.”
