Drunk seagulls have been spotted throwing up on people, falling off rooftops and flying into vehicles.
British seagulls have hit the headlines after one snatched a chihuahua in Devon. The winged creatures have been spotted drinking leftover beers and wines across the UK.
But like humans, they also cannot handle too much alcohol in their system and they have been left confused, falling around, and reeking of booze.
Many seagulls have been seen guzzling glasses of beer and drinking the last few drops of wine up and down the country.
The increasingly violent nature of the birds has made headlines with cases of pensioners pecked on the head and dead animals caused by aggressive gulls. A postman was also left shaken after experiencing repeated attacks.
Adult gulls also become more protective as their chicks prepare to fly away from their nest.
Recently, a group of seagulls was seen enjoying half-empty beer and wine bottles behind a beach along with bottles of urine. In some cases, they have managed to swipe booze out of people’s hands.
Fiona Health from Scotland was shocked when a winged reveler pinched her wine, writing on social media: “A seagull just came and drank my wine/knocked over my wine glass,” adding: “No more wine for me.”
The RSPCA said seagulls initially appeared to have a disease, “but then, after vomiting, most seem to recover.”
Charity officer Jo Daniel said at that time: “The birds absolutely stink of alcohol when we collect them so now our vans smell like pubs.”
Firefighter Virgil Turner rescued a boozed-up seagull but the creature “threw up over me and stank of beer.”
Speaking about his experience, he said to Devon Live: “When we arrived he [the gull] had already fallen off the roof, he was sitting shaking his head and he then tried to fly and he nearly hit me in the face.
“I caught him and he threw up all over me and he reeked of beer.”
