Miraculously, the man stood back up after the video went off and walked away from the rails unscathed. As for the tram network, it was put on hold for a quarter of an hour until emergency services arrived at the scene and removed the drunk man from the scene.

The nerve-wracking recording was taken by Craig Moore, a passenger who rushed to the guy’s help after he fell to the ground and underneath the moving tram.

“Although not shown in this footage, our own CCTV footage shows that the driver stopped the tram as soon as the person fell over – the man pictured was not injured and walked away from the stop.

“We’d like to take the opportunity to remind customers about the safe use of trams. Once the doors have closed and the tram is ready to depart, customers should not attempt to board.”
