As the packed jet was flying 33,000 feet above the ground, Russia-based anesthetist Vadim Bondar made his way to the exit and began banging on and pushing against the door.

It wasn’t until fellow male passengers intervened that the anesthetist got restrained. Several people held the 43-year-old “foul-mouthed and violent” doc as others tied him up to secure his position and limit his movement.

Allegedly, Vadim had been drinking rum on the ten-hour flight before he went berserk and tried to open the emergency door. Following the restraint, he remained tied for four hours until the aircraft safely landed in Moscow.

“He had two bottles of alcohol on him and at some point tried to open an emergency exit,” one passenger recalled.

“The crew and fellow passengers tried to calm him down, but he kept screaming and yelling. He cried when his arms and hands were bound. He kept sobbing and saying ‘My hands are tied, I can’t breathe.’”

“Other passengers and the crew acted together and fixed the rule breaker in a seat using whatever means they managed to find until the end of the flight.”

After the successful landing, the plane hooligan was taken by the police and underwent a medical check. Once he sobered up, he also admitted drinking a tad too much but “only to pass the time while the plane was going through turbulence.”
