Having a wild driver behind him and no place to move due to the oncoming vehicles on the lane right of him, the driver in the front car decided to teach the tailgater a lesson by doing a sudden break check.

While break checking itself is illegal as it is recognized as a form of road rage, so is tailgating, and the person in the pursuing car was clearly paying no attention to the safety distance on purpose.

When the front car driver hit the break, the tailgater was left shocked and lost the control of his car, causing him to swerve off of the main road and into the ditch separating the lanes.

After the footage of the incident went viral, people applauded the driver in front for getting rid of the aggressive driver behind him. Others, however, said he was a criminal who put everyone else in danger.

“No way I’m waiting to get bashed from behind if I need to maneuver quickly. That wasn’t even a strong brake check! The jackass wasn’t paying attention and overreacted. I doubt the fool learned anything though,” someone wrote.

“The lead driver did not change speed, he/she merely touched the brake pedal of their vehicle causing the taillights to come on. The lead driver did NOTHING illegal. The tailgater however was driving in an illegal manner. Everyone that thinks the lead driver did anything wrong is an idiot and should not be driving,” another one suggested.

“Maybe if the slower traffic would keep right as they should than maybe there would be fewer tailgaters. Not to defend the tailgaters at all, but if you’re not passing you need to get out of the passing lane so others may pass. Sure would help with the road rage as well,” someone argued.
