Two toddlers with Down’s syndrome have become the best of friends and are inseparable since they met.
Two-year-old Clara and Cutler were introduced to each other by their mothers.

Clara’s mother Lana Beaton and Cutler’s mother Amy Sanders started arranging play dates for them when they were just a few months old.
Clara’s mother Lana Beaton is a stay-at-home mom while Cutler’s mother Amy Sanders is a school teacher.
They were not close friends but knew each other while growing up in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
When the two mothers gave birth to children with Down’s syndrome, they became friends and introduced their children to each other.
When Lana came to know about Amy’s son Cutler with Down’s syndrome, she sent her a message on Facebook and they decided to meet in a local Starbucks.
Now the toddlers are inseparable and have developed a special bond. The toddlers attend their physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions together two days a week.
Lana said: “Amy and I knew each other growing up – our parents were good friends. However, we never really ran in the same circles and as we grew up we lost touch.”
“A friend of mine came over to see Clara one day and she told me that she was certain that Amy had just welcomed a little boy with DS.”
“I sent her a sensitive message asking her if Cutler had an extra chromosome like Clara and Amy wrote back within an hour. We met up about a week later in a local Starbucks and we really connected.”
Clara is very outgoing while Cutler is shy but despite being so different from each other, the pair have developed a great bond.
Amy said: “Clara is very outgoing and she will tell you what’s what! Cutler is shy and reserved. We try to have playdates as often as we can and they have their speech and occupational therapies together twice a week.”
“Everybody is blown away by their friendship. Everybody is smitten with them.”
The mothers have also created a blog named ‘Clara & Cutler’ to know and help other parents who also have children with Down’s syndrome.
