Representative Liz Cheney has slammed former President Donald Trump and states that he was responsible for “poisoning our democratic system” since he continues to say that the 2020 election was stolen from him, even though the election has already ended last November of 2020.
Cheney tweets on her own social media platform to reach her audience, saying that “The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system.”
The tweet is in the same timeline as the same time as House GOP Conference Chair had wrapped up its meeting.
A House GOP Lawmaker tells The Hill newspaper that the argument is a “boiling point. This isn’t about Liz Cheney wanting to impeach Donald Trump; this isn’t about Donald Trump at all. It’s about Liz Cheney being completely out of sync with the majority of our conference.”
Since the House was focusing mostly on the meeting, they claim that she was “alienating herself from the conference,” in their attempts to “unify the Republican conference and our mission to win back the majority.” They add on that if she is not resigning in the near future, it will result in a “lopsided” majority, heading into a different direction from their goals.
Liz Cheney had survived a leadership vote with the scores of 145-61.The vote had been done by secret ballot.
She was recently annoyed at the Republican party for their actions, such as fist bumping President Joe Biden. She continues to add that lawmakers who helped support the effort of challenging the Electoral College last year should not be considered “presidential material.
Cheney tells the public, “I do think that some of our candidates who led the charge, particularly the senators who led the unconstitutional charge, not to certify the election, you know, in my view that’s disqualifying.”
After Trump’s usage of “the big lie” in his vocabulary by deliberately telling the world that the election was a fraud, Biden follows in his footsteps to describe the events at hand, then brings back the Capitol incident that had occurred last January 6th.
Biden says in response: “I think they should be just flat out defeated the next time. And I think the American public has a real good clear look at who they are. They’re part of the big lie.” He even compares the situation to Joseph Goebbels, a Nazi propagadist.
“Trump said that before he ran, if you say it enough, I’m going to convince you. The press is bad, the press is bad, the press is bad, the press is bad.”
