A research was conducted recently, and it concluded that men with beards tend to carry more germs in their beards than regular dogs carry in their fur.
Many men who love to grow out their beards might not take this nicely because it does take a lot of time, effort, and patience for growing out long facial hairs.
A beard lover knows how much struggle he has to go through for maintain his beard. Many lifestyle changes are made by such men for assuring the proper and steady growth of the beard. And after this new research many might give up their love for beards.
As per this research, scientists have made claims that men with beards are in possession of unhealthy bacteria’s in their chin area, but pooches come off clean and have fewer microbes present in their fur.
The study was done on a group of 18 men and 30 dogs. The swabs were taken of both the parties and when later they were studied, it was concluded that men carried more bacteria’s as compared to what the pups carried in their fur.
The other conclusion of the study was that dogs can now be considered as clean as bearded men if compared.
The age group of these 18 men ranged from 18 to 76, and the dogs were chosen were of different breeds. All of the 18 men had high loads of bacteria in their beards, and only 23 of the 30 dogs had high levels of bacteria. Seven dogs had only moderate levels of the same.
However, the credibility of this research can be questioned on various grounds. To begin with, it didn’t have as many men as dogs for conducting the study.
And 23 dogs did have as much as bacterial load as men which in total are more than the total number of men chosen for the study. The most important conclusion out of this study that can be taken is that bearded creatures do carry germs including humans.
