Dog the Bounty Hunter has found a ‘fresh campsite’ on Shell Island in Florida during his search for Gabby Petito’s boyfriend Brian Laundrie.
He also shared a photo of a banner taunting the missing fugitive. The sign reads: “Aloha Brian Laundrie” and was signed “Dog.”
The 68-year-old reality star took to Instagram and said that he was not responsible for the banner. “Frankly, I wish I had thought of that, but it wasn’t our team,” he said.
“I’d love to shake the hand of whoever is behind the banner, I’ll tell you that,” Dog, real name Duane Chapman, added.
During the Wednesday search, Dog and his team found a can of Monster Energy Ultra Gold at a makeshift campsite deep in the woods at Shell Island, according to Fox News.
But the team did not find solid evidence that suggests Laundrie is in the woods on Egmont Key, southwest of Fort De Soto Park.
“This has been a very different search,” Dog said.
“Social media has enabled us to do this alongside everyone out there. America is along for the journey with us and I’m ready to do more!”
Using boats and K9 units, Dog has been searching the creeks and coastline surrounding Fort De Soto park.
His spokesperson said that he has been “working on very strong leads” and that it “could very well be the last day of the hunt to apprehend Brian Laundrie.”
The reality star believes it is possible that Laundrie is hiding somewhere in the 1,136 acre area, which is made up of five interconnected islands.
In a video posted on Twitter, Dog said: “This would be and could be a perfect spot for him to hide, not too many people out here, but there’s a lot of environmental things that we’re gonna fight.”
