Stolen Dog Was Two Days Away From Being Euthanized When Owner Saw His Photo On Facebook

Pet owners usually consider tags or microchip to make sure their furry companions have identifying information on them.

If dogs are not chipped, they could get stolen and put down if nobody claims them.

One lucky pooch escaped that fate, thanks to social media. His owner hoped that he would see his beloved pet again and Facebook helped him reconnect to his pit bull.

Hank, the cute pooch, was being held at an animal shelter in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was grey and white with a small white blaze.

Like other senior dogs, Hank also doesn’t adopt out well. The staff did their best to make him adoptable. They also took him through socialization courses to make him a shining star. However, nobody wanted to take the pooch.

It was difficult for the shelter to make the decision to put the elderly dog down but two days before Hank was scheduled to be euthanized, a man suddenly showed up. When he saw his dog, he started crying.

“Look who turned up,” Barry Gearhart said in a video he shared on Facebook. “He’s here! What are you doing, buddy?”

Hank’s name was actually ‘Titan.’ Gearhart had had him since he was a puppy. Last year, Titan had been stolen out of his vehicle and ever since then, his owner had been heartbroken.

He shared photos of Titan to a local group almost a year after losing the pooch, hoping to find him. Fortunately, one woman commented and said that Titan looked exactly like the pit bull at the animal care and control shelter.

“Omg miracles never cease my Titan boy is been gone for one year and four days I posted something on Facebook today with a bunch of his pictures and Bam I got to hit he’s coming home,” he wrote on Facebook.
