As Leslie Kowash revealed, she was positively surprised when a friendly dog attended their family reunion despite not being on the guest list.

“We were in the yard of our cottage, with a big buffet table full of delicious southern food,” she said in an interview with The Dodo as she recalled a friendly plump dog paying them a visit.

According to Kowash, the true intentions of the dog were unknown until she went in for a belly rub only to spot an unusual message on the dog’s custom-made collar.

“PLEASE DON’T FEED ME I’M GETTING TOO BIG, SEND ME HOME,” the engraving read.

Apparently, this wasn’t the sweet pooch’s first time of running away from home in search of free snacks.

“Fortunately for him, not everyone read the tag. He got a few bites from other people. Once we started cleaning up, he must have decided he wasn’t going to get much more, because the next time I looked, he had moseyed home,” Kowash added.

In another adorable dog story, a family pooch who befriended not only the neighbors’ dog but their entire family frequently visits their house in order to take a bath with the kids.

As Nicole Ackehurst explained, her dog, Aeida, befriended the neighbors’ dog, Cashew, as soon as the two pooches first met.

In order for the dogs to have more playtime, the two families installed a doggy door between their homes, allowing Aeida and Cashew to visit each other.

“Aeida is very friendly and loving. She really just loves everyone and anything — especially our neighbors’ children,” Nicole said in an interview with The Dodo.

As the proud dog owner added, she started noticing that Aeida has been going to their neighbors’ house in the evenings on a regular basis.

After a while, the neighbors informed Nicole that the reason why Aeida started visiting them in the evenings was that she loves taking baths with the kids.

“Our neighbors sent us a Facebook message with Aeida sitting in their bathtub. We believe that was the first time she had done it,” Nicole said.

As Aeida’s parents explained, the pooch hated taking baths until she discovered just how fun they can be.

“She will join them at bath time at every chance she gets,” Nicole added as she clarified how the pooch sneaks out of the house in the evenings every time she gets the chance.

“I’m pretty sure our neighbors love having her over, just as we love having Cashew come over too. Aeida and Cashew are great friends, and have such a strong bond. They’re both considered great parts of our families.”
