Hundreds Of Dachshunds Came Together For The Traditional Christmas Walk


Hundreds of sausage dogs and their owners came out to Hyde Park for a traditional Christmas walk, and they were wearing their festive clothes.

Owners and their puppies come together in Hyde Park a few times a year, but we see huge gathering during this festive time.

Last year, over 500 pooches attended the event. The Hyde Park sausage dog walk was arranged by Ana Rodriguezand her dog Winston in 2017.

She wanted to meet with other pet owners regularly so she posted an event online. They decided meeting point by the Italian Fountains and were surprised when lots of pets and their owners reached there.

The walk became routine and they continue to meet each month, with hundreds of fans.

This year, the walk has a motive to raise money for The Red Foundation – a charity that rescues and re-homes Dachshunds. They raised over £300($390) for the charity this weekend.

The crowd of dachshunds can be seen in a variety of adorable outfits with some dressed as reindeer, snowmen, elves, and Santa Claus, and even some festive props like scarves, tinsel, bells, and cute bandanas.

The event was a fun outing in the sunshine, even though it’s a little chilly in London right now.

One of the puppies who participate in the event wore a cravat that read ‘Merry Christmas you filthy animal’ about the family-favorite Christmas film Home Alone, while another wore a stylish jumper.

Dachshunds have become very popular with UK dog lovers over the last few years. Their small stature and tiny legs, the Daschund is a bold, independent animal who needs plenty of exercises.
