Dutch fertility doctor, Jan Karbaat ran an IVF clinic in the Netherlands and fathered at least 65 known children.

However, it is believed the doctor fathered thousands of children as he helped produce 10,000 children while working at the sperm bank for 30 years.

He also used to send containers of semen to clinics across the world that is why it is believed he has potentially fathered thousands of children.

Inge told her husband to take a DNA test after learning about the truth and said she will be asking to do the same to her two sons 12-year-old Quinten, and 10-year-old Julien before they marry.

Inge told Sun Online: “I’ll have to say to them, ‘OK, before you get married or think about children just do a DNA test so that it’s not your half-niece you’re in a relationship with.”

Dr. Karbaat always denied swapping donor sperm with his own and producing thousands of children.

Inge said: “My father worked as an undertaker. One day he called me and said, ‘Oh, the doctor has died and he will be buried on Saturday’.”

“It’s so weird because my biological father was buried by my father who raised me.”

Later, DNA tests confirmed he fathered Inge and dozens of others.

Despite not being told she was donor-conceived, Inge had suspicions. When she was 25, her father told her the truth.

After getting married to her husband, Wim and having two sons Quinten and Julien, Inge sent her DNA sample for testing after spotting an advert on TV to find her biological family.

Joey Hoofdman, who had taken a similar test, called her a couple of weeks later and told her he was her half-brother.

Inge went on to meet several people who thought Karbaat fathered them.

After launching a legal battle, it was confirmed Karbaat fathered thousands of children.

Inge has already met several half-siblings of her and is now worried about her children.

She said: “It’s really better to know you’re from a donor from a young age, rather than find out when you’re 25 or in your 30s. I really hope children are spared the difficulties we had during our childhood.”
