If you’re a professional photographer, then it’s easier to set up those perfect shots. However, sometimes there are those once-in-a-lifetime shots that ordinary people snap at just the right moment that would make any professional photographer jealous.

But whether you’re a professional or an amateur, one “environmental hazard” that every photographer needs to be aware of is the photobomb. Of course, with digital photography, it’s easy to just delete the spoiled once and take the shot again but there’s a reason why once-in-a-lifetime shots occur once in a lifetime.

A close encounter with a whale shark often ranks high in the bucket list of most scuba divers. And for a diver named Brad, he finally got his wish when he traveled from Canada to the Galapagos Islands.

He took a liveaboard dive cruise to remote Darwin Island where he hoped to encounter a whale shark and got the encounter he craved. He saw an enormous approaching shadow and waited patiently with his camera and was rewarded by the magnificent sight of a whale shark. It even came close enough to touch and even looked him in the eye as it drifted past.

It was a pregnant female that was fifty feet long and probably weighed as much as 100,000 lbs. Brad was fully entranced by the sight which he was recording in full HD video.

Just at the height of this magical moment, Solon, another experienced diver, in typically mischievous fashion, swam into the camera frame for the most epic photobomb ever and broke the spell. Solon can be seen raising his arms as if in triumph and as he got into the center of the frame, he performed a roll and stretched out his arms before following the whale shark into the distance.

Of course, Solon and Brad have known each other for a long time so antics like this are not really a big deal for Brad, even if it did ruin what is possibly the best video of Brad’s diving career.

But even with the photobomb, one cannot help but be in awe at the sight even watching it from a computer screen. It was definitely an epic experience any way you look at it!
