Walt Disney has announced the temporary closure of Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park amid coronavirus outbreak in the States.
As the company officials have explained, the entertainment parks will remain closed at least until the end of March.
While the company insisted that no reported coronavirus cases were noted within the walls of Disneyland Resort, the decision to temporarily shut the parks down followed after mass public gatherings were banned by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“Changing our actions for a short period of time will save the life of one or more people you know,” the governor previously said as he announced that public gatherings consisting of over 250 people would be banned.
“The people in our lives who are most at risk – seniors and those with underlying health conditions – are depending on all of us to make the right choice.”
Previously, Disneyland Paris has announced that the theme park will remain open even though one of the workers at the park got tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the French media, the maintenance worker who got infected with the killer bug has been quarantined whereas his colleagues are being tested for the virus as well.
While Disneyland will remain open despite the confirmed infection within its walls, the park has urged visitors to keep their distance from each other while queuing for rides. In addition, they will provide a sanitizing gel to all visitors.
As BFMTV stated, the officials of the theme park claimed that the worker performed “behind the scenes” and didn’t come into contact with the park’s visitors.
On late Thursday, however, Disneyland Paris also announced they would be closing down for business at least until the end of the month.
