Disney Parks Confirmed They Will Launch ‘Avengers Campus’ In 2020

Disney Parks confirmed that they are launching an “Avengers Campus.”

The new Marvel-themed set will be officially launched at Disney California Adventure in the summer next year. It will contain almost all superhero-themed attractions you can ever think of.

The news was announced during the 2019 D23 Expo, an event held annually to showcase the announcements from Disney Parks across the globe.

It confirmed the recent reports that Disneyland is starting to build a new project in place of A Bug’s Land, which was closed down.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, said at the week-long expo: “We’re building an immersive superhero-themed land at Disney California Adventure to enable our guests to join the Avengers to save the world.”

It was also confirmed during the expo that Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris would also get superhero-themed lands in addition to California’s park.

“When guests visit Avengers Campus, they will become part of an interconnected, global story that spans from California to Paris to Hong Kong with the Avengers recruiting new extraordinary people to join them,” an official Disney Parks’ blog said.

In June, it was reported by the LA Times that Disneyland filed construction permits for their Avengers Campus.

The permits contained detailed plans to construct an area where visitors can meet their favorite superhero characters as well as to build a microbrewery and refurbish the bathrooms.

According to the outlet, the city administration approved a permit for a 2,071-square-foot merchandise set, and that the work exceeds $14 million.

The official Disney Parks’ blog post said that more information about their new Avengers Campus will be soon made public.
