Disney Employees Continue To Raise The Parks’ Flag Despite The Lockdown


The Walt Disney Company on March 27th, 2020 announced that Walt Disney World and Disneyland would be closed for an indefinite period amidst the global pandemic.

However, even in the lockdown, Disney magic continues to raise up in the sky.

After four days of its announcement of shutdown due to the spread of coronavirus, Josh D’Amaro, the President of Walt Disney World Resort shared a video where employees can be seen raising the American flag inside the park in the courtyard located at the entrance of Main Street, USA.

The video was taken in a clear, beautiful day, and we can see the flag going up on top of the pole while three uniformed Disney employees silently salute it with a striking Cinderella Castle in the background.

In his caption, D’Amaro wrote that while the world may look indifferent right now, the American flag will continue to rise at the Walt Disney World.

Disney Parks Blog also shared the video by saying that it is inspiring how the security cast members continue to raise the flag every morning at the Magic Kingdown while protecting the property.

They hope that this clip inspires everyone as well, and gives them hope.

In the end, the statement read that Disney World will be back and right now, it wants to applaud its cast members who continue to work and protect the magic every day.

Until it re-opens, the company hopes that people are taking the right measures to stay safe and healthy.

Initially, On March 12th, 2020, Disney announced that the Disney World and Disneyland would remain close over the weekend. But seeing the increasing spread of the coronavirus, the company decided to completely close its gates on March 27th, 2020.

While the company originally planned to re-open by the end of the month, it now seems unlikely with the USA being the most affected country in the world with coronavirus.
