A woman and her disabled partner have spoken out about their relationship and revealed they are ready to tie the knot despite the hateful comments they receive on a daily basis.

20-year-old Corrine Szatkowski met 22-year-old Tyler French in a video game and the two instantly clicked.

While the girl knew Tyler looked different from the rest, his disability didn’t prevent her from seeing him as a “human being” and falling in love with him.

Fast forward four years of friendship and dating, the couple is now ready to tie the knot and Corrine is training to become a nurse so that she can take care of her future husband.

Tyler is suffering from spinal muscular atrophy that causes muscle weakness and mobility issues.

“We first met on IMVU which is online video game and we were friends for about three years maybe a little more,” Corinne revealed in an interview with Barcroft TV.

After things heated up between the pair, the young woman decided to pay Tyler a visit in his hometown.

“The first time I thought when I saw Corinne thanked god I didn’t get catfished and oh my god she is so beautiful,” Tyler recalled.

“I didn’t care what he looked like, you know about the wheelchair, it was just like this is the man that I have been talking to and I am so glad to be here in person,” Corrine added.

The couple now lives happily at their home in Reeders, Pennsylvania, and are getting ready to tie the knot. Despite their obvious love for each other, however, they admitted they still receive a lot of hurtful comments from complete strangers.

“I think that the biggest misconception is that there aren’t any interabled relationships, that they just can’t happen. That it is impossible for someone to separate the nurse side of things from the love side of things,” Tyler said.

“Another common misconception that we received a couple of comments about is that we aren’t intimate as a couple. Just because you are in a wheelchair it doesn’t mean that you cannot be intimate with your partner. We are intimate, we can do anything that other couples can do with some limitations,” Corrine added.

Following their engagement, the couple was once again slammed with inappropriate comments as they shared their photos on Facebook.

“Tyler’s mom uploaded a picture of the two of us after an engagement party to Facebook and we started getting a lot of comments on it, most of them it started all good and then it started turning into harassing,” Corrine expressed.

“I was really upset about the whole thing and wanted him to get involved with it with me you know you shouldn’t be saying that about people you have no idea who they are you literally just saw a picture on Facebook and that’s it.”

As Tyler added, he and his fiancée faced a backlash from all sides when they decided to date each other. Fortunately, however, their families soon realized they were meant for each other and accepted them as a couple.

“There was a time where we were basically getting hate from all the sides, her family wasn’t excited that we were engaged, my family wasn’t excited that we were moving and it was hard. But now they see that she can take care of me and I am as healthy as I have ever been,” he said.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover, don’t judge us, don’t say she’s my mother, don’t judge me. Don’t say I can’t think or I can’t speak, do your best to keep your businesses open to everyone, we really just want to be treated as everybody else.”
