A dirty house has been transformed into a gorgeous home by a cleaning team and hardworking new owners.

The story takes place in Runcorn, England, where Colette and Stephen Dowd bought a property that was overrun by trash, rats, and all kinds of abomination that would normally send people running.

As seen in the photos taken before the clean-up, the property was riddled with waste, feces, and tons of items left behind by the hoarder who used to live there.

According to the couple, they took over the property after years of living close to the house that is located in the same street as their home.

As Stephen and Colette explained, they would often see rats jumping around the property, making them afraid to sit outside their own home.

“We didn’t know the extent of it, there was no way of knowing they were living like that. We just kept saying there’s something not right here,” Colette said in an interview with Liverpool Echo.

After starting the renovation, the couple received the help of Merseyside House Clearance, a cleaning company that emptied the abandoned property of all the junk that had been sitting in it for years.

“We bought this house last August and it was in a state of disrepair. Next thing we knew there were rats running around our garden, they’d made their own home here. When we eventually got in, it had to be specially cleared out,” Stephen explained.

“The damage was just unbelievable. There was holes in the walls, the doors were hanging off, we’ve had to replace everything.

“And as you can see, we’ve completely refurbished the whole house, with new doors, new skirting boards, every wall has been re-skimmed.”

After replacing everything from the floor to the kitchen to the radiators and appliances, the home looks like a totally different place.

“We’ve redone the whole garden and hopefully now the new tenants can move in this week. A nice family are moving in, hopefully they can look after it and we can all get on with our lives,” the couple added.
