Just seconds later, another deputy pulls the woman recording the video from her car and tells her that the man “has a warrant for his arrest.”

The deputy also insisted that the suspect was “playing games” with them by allegedly resisting arrest and not complying.

Following the arrest, the woman who caught the act on camera alleged that the deputies admitted their mistakes and claimed they arrested the wrong suspect.

As she added, the police allegedly never had an arrest warrant for the man they apprehended.

“All of what occurred in the video could have been prevented if they had simply asked for my brother’s ID before just attacking him,” the woman wrote in her post as she shared the video.

After the footage went viral, Sheriff Sgt. Tess Deterding confirmed that the footage sparked concerns and that an investigation into the matter would be carried out.

“The sheriff’s office always has and will continue to take these type of allegations very seriously whether it’s a false arrest or in this case allegations of a misidentification,” she told ABC 10 at the time.

Now, in a fresh statement to ABC 10, the sheriff’s office confirmed that “the allegations were sustained against the deputy.”
