A sheriff’s deputy was caught on camera tasing and kicking a suspect in the back despite the man being compliant and raising his hands above his head.
In the video, which was recorded and shared online by an Instagram user known as benjibrezzy, the man is seen standing still with his hands above his head as the deputies approach him.
All of a sudden, however, one of the sheriff’s deputies accosts him from the back, tases him, and jump kicks him, causing the man to stumble forward and engage in a brawl with the officers.
Just seconds later, another deputy pulls the woman recording the video from her car and tells her that the man “has a warrant for his arrest.”
As the woman tries to explain that they had just had breakfast, the deputy replies: “We know exactly where you got out of… He has a warrant for his arrest, That’s his business. That’s all I’m going to tell you.”
The deputy also insisted that the suspect was “playing games” with them by allegedly resisting arrest and not complying.
I thought all you had to do was comply and you wouldn’t be shot or brutalized by police. ?? pic.twitter.com/b1lVsuRx5i

The incident happened in Sacramento, California, back in March.
Following the arrest, the woman who caught the act on camera alleged that the deputies admitted their mistakes and claimed they arrested the wrong suspect.
As she added, the police allegedly never had an arrest warrant for the man they apprehended.
“All of what occurred in the video could have been prevented if they had simply asked for my brother’s ID before just attacking him,” the woman wrote in her post as she shared the video.
After the footage went viral, Sheriff Sgt. Tess Deterding confirmed that the footage sparked concerns and that an investigation into the matter would be carried out.
“The sheriff’s office always has and will continue to take these type of allegations very seriously whether it’s a false arrest or in this case allegations of a misidentification,” she told ABC 10 at the time.
Now, in a fresh statement to ABC 10, the sheriff’s office confirmed that “the allegations were sustained against the deputy.”
“The Sheriff’s Office conducted an administrative investigation, the allegations were sustained against the deputy, and appropriate action has been taken,” the spokesperson said.
