Wounded Deputy Struggled To Save Partner’s Life After They Were Ambushed And Shot Multiple Times


Two Los Angeles deputies were ambushed and shot by an unidentified male gunman in the Compton neighborhood just before 7 pm Saturday.

One of the deputies, a 31-year-old mom of a 6-year-old boy, helped save her partner’s life by tending to his injuries after she called for backup.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $100,000 reward for information about the male shooter.

Footage shows the ‘dark-skinned’ suspect approaching an LACSD car parked outside the Metro Blue Line station. He then opened fire and ran away.

The deputies each sustained multiple gunshot wounds, authorities reported. Both are now in stable condition.

The gunman was described as a black male between 28 and 30 years old. He was last seen in a black four-door sedan wearing dark clothing.

Capt. Kent Wegner said: “We have a very, very generic description,” adding that officers were covering the area in search of the shooter.

Sheriff Villanueva also said at a press conference: “That was a cowardly act. he two deputies were doing their job, minding their own business, watching out for the safety of the people on the train.

“Seeing somebody just walk up and start shooting on them. It p***es me off. It dismays me at the same time. There’s no pretty way to say it.”

LAPD Chief Michael Moore wrote on Twitter: “Tonight we pray for these two guardians to survive. I recognize and acknowledge we live in troubled times.
