The Delivery Man Called And Put An Order For A Confused Woman Who Tried To Order Food Straight From Him


A food delivery man has won the praise of the internet after he ordered food for an elderly lady.

The heartwarming encounter, which happened in Bacolod, the Philippines, was fortunately captured on camera by neighbor Maris Mayol Tian.

Tian had just paid for her meal from fast-food chain Jollibee when she spotted the elderly woman waving the delivery guy over.

The old lady, who Tian calls Nanay, was asking the delivery guy if he had any food with him because she wanted to purchase it for breakfast.

“The delivery guy explained that he delivers food that has been ordered,” Tian told BuzzFeed News. “But then Nanay said she also wanted to order.”

“That was the moment when he took out his phone and dialed a number to order for her.”

“I found that really cute,” she added. “Not a lot of young people pay attention to old people, but he did, so I ran inside the house to look for my phone and took a photo.”

After Tian shared the picture on her Facebook, it went viral, racking more than 165,000 likes and over 5o,000 shares in a few days.

“I didn’t expect anything like this to happen,” Tian told the outlet. “But it’s a nice feeling when you get to share good vibes and positivity with people you don’t know.”

Thanks to the power of social media, the kindhearted delivery man was soon identified as Elpegie Palmares Sicor.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Sicor said he had been associated with Jollibee for around three months. He added that he helped the elderly lady in placing her order because “it’s my job, customer service.”

Sicor, who was totally unaware of the fact that he has become an internet sensation, was over the moon when he learned that his kind deed went viral, inspiring countless people across the globe.
