A delivery driver has been sacked after he was caught kicking a pet dog in the head while dropping off an Amazon package.
49-year-old Karen Denham said she was horrified when the delivery man kicked 8-year-old Dug so hard the dog flew into the air and landed in a puddle.
The small dog, described as the soppiest, softest ever, had reportedly followed the delivery man out the front door.
The driver, who was working for a private delivery company used by Amazon, has been fired after he kicked Dug in the head.
Dug had to be taken to the vets where he was treated for trauma to his eye and shock, and Amazon paid for the bill.
Sharing the driver’s photo on Facebook, Karen said: “What a day. This b*****d delivered a parcel to my house this afternoon.
“Anyone who knows Dug will know he’s the softest soppiest dog ever and loved humans more than dogs.
“Dug followed him out the front door. The man kicked my poor dog in the head which sent him flying in the air into a puddle.
“We’ve had a trip to the vets and they have treated him for shock and trauma to his eye – £70 later!”
After a few days, she made another post: “Dug has been resting today. His eye is still swollen but we are hoping he will mend soon.
“I have been to work today and on returning I had many missed calls from a lovely lady from Amazon.
“She couldn’t have been more apologetic, kind and caring.
“They are taking this incident very seriously.
“I am not normally the sort of person who would put up angry posts and certainly I am not one to name and shame but this distressed me and my family so much, I felt it had to be done.”
It was revealed that the delivery man had been sacked after an investigation.
Margaret Gowland commented: “Bloody disgusting and evil.”
Shelley Wright said: “Must have made him feel like a big hard bloke kicking a pug.”
